The murder of Godwin, which apparently was a random killing, came after Stephens’ girlfriend dumped him. Stephens had claimed to have killed other individuals but police were unable to connect him to any other killings in the area.

From My Fox 8:
Steve Stephens, 37, fatally shot Robert Godwin in Cleveland, Ohio on Easter. The two did not know each other, and Godwin — a father of nine and grandfather of 14 — was walking home from Easter dinner when he was approached by Stephens and killed, according to Cleveland police.
Video of the killing was posted to Facebook that day, and later removed. By Monday, five states, including Ohio, were informed Stephens may be headed there.
Pennsylvania was among the states listed, and conflicting reports indicated Stephens’ cellphone pinged in the Eerie area. Stephens was found dead inside a white Ford Fusion, according to the Erie Times-News.
The murder, which was posted to Facebook, sparked national outrage as to how anyone could brutally murder an innocent man walking home on Easter Sunday. After Facebook learned of the violent content being posted on their website, the company removed the video but not after it had been viewed thousands of times.
This is a breaking news story.
