Donald Trump Comes to the Rescue of Pastor Held Hostage in Iran

American pastor Saeed Abedini is finally free. But for three years, he was arrested in Iran while building a Christian orphanage.

The Iranian government sentenced him to prison for “undermining national security” just because he prayed with fellow Christians while in the country:

On this last trip, the Iranian government pulled him off a bus and said he must face a penalty for his previous work as a Christian leader in Iran.

He is currently awaiting trial at Iran’s notoriously brutal Evin Prison, where he has been incarcerated since late September.

“When he became a Christian, he became a criminal in his own country. His passion was to reach the people of Iran,” Naghmeh, his wife, said in an exclusive interview with Fox News.

The story is sadly common:

All religious minorities in Iran, including Bahais, Zoroastrians, Jews and Christians, have faced various forms of persecution and political and social marginalization throughout the regime’s 30-year reign. But the government saves its harshest retribution for those who have abandoned Islam.

As a Muslim convert to Christianity, that harsh retribution fell to Pastor Abedini. While he was stuck in prison, his family had to fend for themselves. But then one day, they got great news from an amazing source: Donald Trump!

Iranian-American Pastor Saeed Abedini is brimming with gratitude for one U.S. presidential aspirant: Donald Trump.

In a surprising revelation, Abedini said the Republican presidential nominee helped provide for the needs of his family in Boise, Idaho while he was locked up in an Iranian prison for his faith. The pastor said Trump gave his family $10,000 while he was imprisoned for three and a half years.

“I am finally free in a free country. Last year on the same day I was sick and in chains for Christ, and now I can vote to choose my next president,” Abedini said in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday.

“And most amazingly, I can vote for someone that I know fought for me and called my name so many times. He met my family and gave them a $10,000 gift. I think his ideas are more biblical than the other candidates,” he added.

In contrast, Abedini said Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton did not do or say anything to help secure his release from Iranian prison. The pastor said Clinton never spoke his name or met his family.

This is Incredible! Trump met with Abedini’s family and helped them get by while he was in prison. That’s an incredible act of charity, and it deserves praise.

Last week, we shared the story about Trump helping a little girl with a serious bone disease. He’s an incredible man, and the media won’t show you this side of Donald Trump. It doesn’t advance their cause.
