DeSantis Threatens Biden With Lawsuit Over Vaccine Mandates

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Thursday threatened to take President Biden to court over the administration’s extensive vaccine mandate.

DeSantis objected to the mandate’s effect on jobs in the Sunshine State.

“We are going to contest that immediately,” the governor said of the mandate. “We think the state of Florida has standing to do it.”

DeSantis added that he’d be teaming up with businesses in the state to combat the vaccine mandate.

“We also know businesses that we’re going to work with to contest it,” he said.

DeSantis Fights Vaccine Mandates

DeSantis has consistently urged Floridians to get the vaccine, citing the effectiveness of the jab and noting that “over 95%” of people being hospitalized for COVID “are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all.”

“And so these vaccines are saving lives, they are reducing mortality,” he has said.

But he has also consistently fought back against mandates and forcing citizens to get the shot.

He is now threatening to take action through a lawsuit due to the mandate’s effect on jobs.

“Let’s not have Biden come in and effectively take away — threaten to take away — the jobs of people who have been working hard throughout this entire pandemic,” DeSantis said.

“I am offended that a police officer could potentially lose their job.”

Fighting For Workers

President Biden issued a sweeping vaccine mandate last month and called on private businesses with over 100 employees to implement the requirements.

DeSantis vowed to fight on behalf of the workers who could potentially lose their job due to the mandates.

“We have a responsibility at the state level to do whatever we need to do to protect Floridians from mandates that could result in them losing their jobs,” he said.

“We have to protect the jobs of Floridians.”

DeSantis isn’t simply talking the talk on vaccine mandates either.

Earlier this week, Leon County was fined $3.57 million for imposing a vaccine mandate on local government employees in violation of the state’s ban on vaccine passports.

Under Florida law, any business entity – including the local government – that requires proof of a COVID vaccine is subject to a $5,000 fine per infraction.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, incapable of understanding the distinction between being anti-mandate – which DeSantis is – and anti-vax – which DeSantis isn’t – accused him of “putting politics ahead of public health.”

“Why would you be taking steps that prevent the saving of lives, that make it more difficult to save lives across the country or in any state?” she asked.

Obesity is a major health epidemic in this country. Should we force a healthy food mandate on the people because it would save lives? Cars kill people. Should a bicycle mandate be next to save lives?

It’s all about control with the Biden administration. Fortunately for Floridians, they have somebody willing to fight him head-on to stop the Democrat’s power grab.
