Ex-KKK Leader David Duke Criticizes President Trump’s Comments About Charlottesville

By now, you’ve heard the talking point a thousand times over regarding the tragedy in Charlottesville – that President Donald Trump didn’t explicitly condemn white supremacy enough.

The media seems to be under the delusion that because Trump condemned the crazies on both sides, his condemnation of the white supremacists doesn’t count. In reality, white supremacists and leftist groups like ANTIFA are two heads of the same coin. Both are no friends of American values – but great friends of political violence.

While the media complains that Trump didn’t do enough to condemn white supremacists, the KKK’s former Grand Wizard (and an attendee at the Charlottesville rally) David Duke is among those complaining…. that Trump condemned him and his ilk.

Former KKK leader David Duke was none too pleased that President Donald Trump on Monday finally got around to condemning extremist groups by name ― including neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan ― for the deadly weekend protest in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Minutes after Trump’s speech, Duke lashed out in a series of tweets, claiming the president had been manipulated by the media.

Soon after that, in an anti-Semitic, racist Periscope video rant, Duke spoke directly to Trump, claiming white nationalists abhor violence. He said “it’s just ridiculous” that the president felt he had to make Monday’s statement.

“President Trump, please, for God’s sake, don’t feel like you need to say these things,” Duke admonished in the video. “It’s not going to do you any good.”

Duke also stuck up for James Alex Fields, 20, the white nationalist motorist accused of ramming his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing Heather Heyer, 32. “When you’re under attack … you panic and you do things that are stupid and you do things that are wrong,” Duke said.

Duke also commented in response to Trump’s initial tweet condemning the acts in Charlottesville that “it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists.”

Er…. well….. duh? Yes – radical leftists don’t tend to vote for Republicans.

Is Duke really all that shocked though? After all, we’ve known for nearly two decades what The Donald thinks about him.

It’s clear that Donald Trump despises Duke and ilk. And he’s right to. Racists are immoral, and America is based on liberty and equality for all. Period.

What do you think? Is it hypocritical the media won’t report on the KKK denouncing President Trump? Tell us your thoughts below, and share this story on Facebook and Twitter!
