Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein Says James Comey Broke Agency Protocol With Leaks

Former FBI Director James Comey’s time as the darling of the liberal media may come at a high cost. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein just announced that Comey’s deliberate leaks to the press actually broke FBI protocol.

This is a serous charge, and represents just how underhanded Comey behaved under President Trump. It also shows that Trump was justified in giving Comey a big fat pink slip.

From Fox News:

“As a general proposition, you have to understand the Department of Justice. We take confidentiality seriously, so when we have memoranda about our ongoing matters, we have an obligation to keep that confidential,” Rosenstein said.

Asked if he would prohibit releasing memos on a discussion with the president, he said, “As a general position, I think it is quite clear. It’s what we were taught, all of us as prosecutors and agents.”

President Trump has gone further, accusing the former FBI director of breaking the law:

Comey truly is a slimy swamp creature. Just days after his congressional testimony against Trump, he was caught sneaking into the New York Times building. Then he announced he was shopping around a book, and is expected to earn an advance of $10,000.

Whatever Comey is up to, we know it isn’t good. As head of the FBI, we learned that he was willing to betray President Trump. His actions definitely broke FBI protocol, and almost certainly broke the law.

President Trump should hold him accountable. The American people deserve it.
