3 Times Comey Vindicated Trump by Saying He Was Not Under Investigation

While the left desperately clings to their hopes and dreams of impeaching President Trump, former FBI Director James Comey’s prepared statements published by the Senate Intelligence Committee show that he repeatedly assured the President that he was not under investigation.

The President repeatedly asserted that he was not under FBI investigation and in fact, in his letter to Comey informing him of his firing, explained that he was told exactly three times.

Trump wrote, “While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.”

To nobody’s surprise, the media attacked Trump with conjecture and bias. The Associated Press labeled it “a questionable claim that if true would be a startling breach of protocol,” while quoting sources who simply said, “Wouldn’t happen.”

Well, it did happen.

Here are those exact three moments, according to Comey’s own words, that he told Trump he was not under investigation:

Well, look at that. Trump was right, and the biased liberal media was wrong. Again.

Former FBI Director James Comey did offer President Donald Trump assurance he was not personally being investigated by the department, according to Comey’s prepared testimony for a Thursday hearing in the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Comey said he offered the assurance to then-president-elect Trump on Jan. 6 in a briefing in Trump Tower. Before that meeting, he spoke with the FBI’s leadership team about whether he should tell Trump the agency was not investigating him.

“That was true; we did not have an open counter-intelligence case on him. We agreed I should do so if circumstances warranted,” Comey said. “During our one-on-one meeting at Trump Tower, based on President-Elect Trump’s reaction to the briefing and without him directly asking the question, I offered that assurance.”

American Center for Law and Justice chief counsel, Jay Sekulow, said Comey’s testimony marks vindication for the President.

“A total and complete vindication of the President,” he said. “The President was clearly not under investigation and not a target. All of the left’s talking points are completely incorrect by James Comey’s own testimony.”

“President Trump was right,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “Director Comey’s statement reconfirmed what the president has been saying all along –  he was never under investigation.”
