Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington has killed himself at age 41. He has struggled with drug and alcohol abuse in the past.
In a private home in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles, California, he hung himself. The body was found just after 9 am.
His band’s album, “Meteroa,” was one of the biggest alternative albums in music history.
This is tragic:
Bennington was a close friend of Soundgarden rocker Chris Cornell who hanged himself in May. Chester and Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson had performed for the crowd of mourners at Cornell’s funeral.
Chester was married with 6 children from 2 wives. Media reports suggest he had said he had considered committing suicide because he had been abused as a child by an older male.
I’m sure you’ve heard their popular “Numb” hit, which has been viewed a half-billion times on YouTube:
Bennington’s family could use our prayers at this time.
