California Becomes the Only State to Recognize a ‘Third’ Gender

california gender law

California, in keeping with it’s efforts to placate the extreme reaches of the left, has become the first state to legally recognize a “gender” that is neither male or female.

Governor Jerry ‘Non-Binary’ Brown signed legislation that would allow the choice of “non-binary” as a gender on state-issued IDs such as driver’s licenses or birth certificates.

Seriously, birth certificates.

The bill, known as the Gender Recognition Act, effectively and ironically does away with gender on government forms in the Golden State, allowing people to essentially say ‘I’m whatever.’

Which wouldn’t be a huge deal except for the fact that gender is an important tool in identifying who people are. You know, like legal immigration documents, voter ID, or even police reports for example.

In typical fashion however, California liberals have no interest in identifying anybody under any circumstances.

State Sen. Scott Wiener celebrated passage of the bill saying, “With the passage of [Senate Bill 179] California continues its fight for a more inclusive society, even as some in Washington continue to try to take away rights from LGBT people.”

Mr. Wiener, who co-authored the bill, added “transgender and non-binary people will now be able to identify themselves as they are, not as who society tells them they should be.”

It’s interesting to hear Wiener argue that people should be their authentic selves when he helped barely pass a public nudity ban in San Francisco, prompting his opponent to campaign and conduct interviews in Times Square in the buff.

Nudists are just trying to be their authentic selves, aren’t they?

Anyhow, just to demonstrate how extreme Wiener is, this is the same man who just a couple of weeks ago managed to get governor Brown to sign a bill that could lead to jail time for those who don’t use the “right” pronoun in identifying people.

In fact, here’s how much of a liberal cesspool California has become:

Now, they’ve become the first state in the nation to allow a gender option other than ‘male’ or ‘female.’
