Former House Speaker John Boehner has made claims about establishment Republican plans for Obamacare that are sure to leave Trump voters furious.
Boehner believes that, much like the previous 6 years, when the GOP refused to fight until Obamacare was fully repealed, the party is still all talk and no action.
“Repeal-and-replace” is “not going to happen,” he warned during an interview with Politico.

Former House speaker John Boehner said Thursday that Republicans won’t deliver on a years-long promise to repeal the Affordable Care Act, telling an audience at a health care conference that “repeal-and-replace” is “not going to happen,” and that the GOP will instead fix the ACA’s current framework.
“I shouldn’t call it repeal-and-replace, because it’s not going to happen,” Boehner told Politico.
“Most of the framework of the Affordable Care Act … that’s going to be there,” he added in the Politico interview.
Boehner, who resigned from Congress in 2015, is no longer shackled by the constraints of leading House Republicans. That means he’s free to admit his party won’t be able to completely repeal the ACA.
In fact, Boehner said any plans to overturn Obama’s signature healthcare law amounts to nothing more than “happy talk.”
This is the opposite of what President Trump has vowed, that in just a matter of weeks a plan to repeal and replace will be submitted.

That said, it does match up with the reality on the ground – If what Boehner is saying is true, then it’s simply a continuation of 6 years of Republican impotence in trying to rid America of the disastrous healthcare law.
The GOP has been granted more and more power with each successive election – 2010, 2012, 2014 – And now in 2016 they’ve been given the House, the Senate, and the White House. There is no excuse for them to renege on their campaign promises to repeal Obamacare this time around.
Should Boehner’s prediction come true, it’d be high time to hold the Republican Party accountable. President Trump may have to step in. Politico reported earlier this month that repealing Obamacare may require “a direct intervention from Trump to get the party’s warring factions in line.”
Lamar Alexander (R-TN) said, “It’s hard to see how this gets done unless the president says, ‘OK, let’s do it this way.'”
