President Donald J. Trump paid tribute to Andrew Jackson, America’s 7th President, at his home in Tennessee, The Hermitage.
Trump has embodied the populist spirit of Jackson. And while Jackson was wealthy, like Trump, he stood up to moneyed interests and Washington elites.
Trump spoke fondly about Jackson, and honored his memory. As Trump opined (below), “He was one of our great presidents. He loved Tennessee, and so do I.”
At @7thpresident, Pres Trump spoke of Andrew Jackson as confronting and defying “an arrogant elite.” “Does that sound familiar?” he asked.

What a fantastic moment! Trump, like Jackson, upended politics-as-ususal in Washington, D.C. Trump understands history and will not forget the hardworking Americans who put him in the White House.
Isn’t it nice to see a President who honors our extraordinary history again?
