Andrew Breitbart passed away on March 1st, 2012, but the conservative heavyweight lives on, as does his influence.
His eponymous website became one of the most visited pro-Trump publications during the 2016 election with Steven Bannon running the show. Hillary Clinton (in)famously gave a speech on the so-called “alt-right” in which she denounced Breitbart.com, Bannon, Milo Yiannopoulos, and other contributors to the site. Even beyond the grave, what Breitbart created is a thorn in the Left’s side.
Much like the man who was formally the website’s most popular columnist (Yiannopoulos), Breitbart had the reputation of being a bit of a bomb thrower – and he wasn’t afraid to step into the lion’s dead. Among one of the most memorable face-offs he had was when he appeared on MSNBC’s “Martin Bashir,” in what was supposed to be an interview about his book “Righteous Indignation.”
Rather than be a normal interview, Bashir quickly tried to brand Andrew a racist, and smear him with other leftist tactics that have become increasingly common in the age of social-justice politics. But rather than take it, Breitbart went on the offensive, destroying Bashir on his own show.
He certainly was ahead of the times when it came to going after John Podesta, wasn’t he?
