Fast food chain Chick-fil-A has a policy of being closed on Sundays so their employees “have an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so.”
That said, the business, noted for operating with traditional religious values in mind, recognizes that tragedies don’t take a day off. And as any good Christian organization would, they responded to the recent tornado victims in Texas by opening their doors on Sunday and delivering food to first responders and victims.

This morning Chick-fil-A is breaking their own rule and cooking on a Sunday. For the best reason possible, to help feed those first responders and people in need affected by last night’s tornadoes.

Yesterday, a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Rockwall, Texas, broke a company-wide policy about staying closed on Sundays in order to deliver food to first responders and people whose homes were destroyed by Saturday’s deadly tornadoes.
Facebook user Jared Guynes posted Sunday morning that he saw employees inside the location, presumably restocking their truck to make runs.
Garrett Dobs confirmed in the comment thread that he works at that location and is “happy we stayed to do that.”
Kevin Douglas of the Garland Fire Department gave his thanks in the comments: “A huge thank you to Chick-fil-a from the Garland FD!!!! The sandwiches have been awesome and kept us going. God bless y’all!!”
Guynes post quickly went viral, which unfortunately meant unhinged liberals went on the attack. Guynes received numerous hateful comments about Chick-fil-A, enough that he felt he had to say something in a later post.
He wrote that “many people have a problem, ethically, with Chick-Fil-A” and that those people made several “nasty comments.”
Guynes described Chick-fil-A as “a bug light for haters and people trying to downplay the community service.”
“No matter what people have to say,” he wrote, “I think it’s indisputable that they care about the community, service the community, and are an asset to the community.”
“We are better for them being here,” he added.
